Butts

It's warm again today, so says the pup. Okay, she's a 4 or 5 year old dog (see yesterday's post), but I love the pup with a fluffy blond butt.

I should be doing something important--weeding the garden, knitting a waistband for lace pants, mending and pressing a few items, working on volunteer paperwork that is sitting in front of me, but no, I wanted to see what YarnHarlot has been doing. And I see that it's more than me.
So the post shall remain short since you my reader will be my inspiration to get my butt moving on some projects.
I see from earlier this week I said I would take some pics to post and I would hate to let you down.

Dog Appreciation

So this morning I'm listening to the radio, thinking I should get up and take the dog for a walk--I mean, go for a walk with the dog; and I roll over and open my eyes and what do I see?
Isn't that face just precious--hence her name, Precious Lady Jane. She's my walking buddy.
Ok, so back to this morning, I see her face and just laugh. She was thanking me for taking her swimming yesterday. It was just so hot, and she LOVES to swim, or walk, or eat, or anything with me.
But lazy me, I urged her (oh yea, like that's hard) to snuggle with me on the bed for a bit and then I got up and took a shower. Then she followed my around the house until I left for work. What a pup. Now she is laying next to the chair with her head on one of the legs (so she knows if I go anywhere).
July 4 is just around the corner, but that was not the big event for us this year. Two weeks ago the eldest daughter married her sweetie and just 15 days before that, she bought a house. Not bad for a 21 yr old, huh? She is very independent and organized, and needless to say, everything went well.
Here is the beautiful Bride and Groom.

The bad news is--she has two sisters! Thank goodness Precious Lady Jane is neutered!

June 28--Almost July!!!

Today was crazy at work--deadline day before a big holiday and hot, ick. So after work I came home and did a little knitting on something I'll call the V-Shawl for now, made out of left over yarn from another project.
As for projects, this week I hope to finish moving all the sewing and knitting equipment and supplies to the spare room. That will give me 121 sq. ft. of space--compaired to the 1200 sq. ft. barn the hubby has.
Next is the list on the white board--finish the lace pants, make a baby gift and just use all the yarn I got last month on ebay.
I may have to give in and take the dog to the lake again today.
Later this week I will post pics of the pants and V-Shawl.

What's in a name

So the name of this blog is wowyoucandothat--really it's "Wow, you can do that?" because I've heard that phrase many days of my life beginning a long time ago. The first instance that I remember someone saying that to me was in first grade. We had an art project in which we cut out felt pieces and glued them to a burlap rectangle to make a placemat. We also wrote our name on the placemat and then with this HONKING huge needle and scrap yarn, traced the writing with a running stitch. I used yellow burlap and red yarn. Everyone in my class was amazed. I even received an award for the project. I was amazed that everyone else had such a difficult time with such an easy project.
As it turns out, I was one of a few that grew up in a house hold of 'do it yourselfers'. So, for all you that DO things, be proud!
